Lie #1: Non tithing Christians are under a curse. This lie is utilized as a fear tactic to control and manipulate people. Since Galatians 3:13 clearly state that Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, this demonstrates how the tithing promoters choose to snub God's word when it doesn't line up with their agenda. They simply just thumb their nose at God's word or disregard it altogether in order to promote their own agenda of greed cloaked in religion. By the way the only people who actually needed redemption from the curse were the ancient Israelites who were once under the law. The curse ended with the ending of the old law covenant and there is no curse under the new testament covenant. So the tithing promoters are blatantly lying by saying the curse is still in effect today.

Lie #2: Christians must pay tithes to obtain blessings. Since Galatians 3:14 state that we are blessed through faith in Christ once again God's word is snubbed by the tithing promoters to push their own agenda and to cleverly manipulate people into tithing by saying if you don't tithe you get no blessings. As the case is with the previous lie the tithing promoters go far beyond mildly disagreeing with God's word by saying the exact opposite of what God's word state. Anytime someone say the exact opposite of what God's word say they are denying His word and committing blasphemy and the tithing promoters do that consistently.

Lie #3: God established tithing before the law. This false concept is based on an incident where Abraham paid a tenth part of his goods obtained from a war he waged on behalf of Sodom to rescue his nephew Lot. He paid this tithe to Melchizedek who was the high priest and king of Salem and he let Sodom keep the rest because he told them that he would keep nothing. However that was a one time gift that Abraham gave of his own free will as a public act of thanksgiving for a military victory and not as an act of obedience to a commandment of God. Furthermore tithing was not a regular practice of Abraham, it was something he did that one time and that was it. And he never tithed on his own personal property and livestock.

Lie #4: The Church must pay tithes today because God established it before the law. This is based on the previous false concept so for that reason alone it is false. Furthermore, the fact that something was practiced before the Law does not make it a permanent commandment of God. Also, if we use Abraham as an example for tithing then we need to follow him in other areas as well, such as circumcision, animal sacrifices, burnt offerings and multiple wives (concubines) just to name a few. These false concepts are really just the tithing promoters attempt to get around addressing their burden of proof which they can not possibly meet. And their burden of proof is to find a verse in the new testament where God commands His Church to pay tithes. Now its rather strange that tithing didn't appear in the Church until centuries after the completion of the Bible. That's because it started when greedy men decided to misapply and misuse tithing as a scheme to obtain money.

Lie #5: The local church is the storehouse. The storehouse is fully explained in chapter four and its definitely not the local church of today, but rather storerooms that were around the ancient Israelites temples. The tithing promoters are well known for twisting God's word way out of context to fit their own agenda. As a result they are causing many to eat the fruit of lies as the bible describe some as doing in Hosea 10:13.
